Ulster BOCES New Visions Program to Host Mixed Media Installation on Effects of Poverty
PROJECT POVERTY, a mixed media installation highlighting the effects of poverty in the United States and Ulster County, will be presented Friday, December 13, 2002, at the restaurant at Ulster BOCES, Route 9W, Port Ewen, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM.

PROJECT POVERTY is produced by the Ulster BOCES New Visions Communications students, with support from Kingston Cares, WDST, NYPIRG, local playwright Casey Kurtti, and The Citizen. The installation highlights such issues as myths and realities, children and poverty, successful programs, and the living wage.

The Ulster BOCES New Visions Communications program is a project-based curriculum giving students a chance to integrate studies in English, Political Science and Economics, as well as explore careers in mass communications.

PROJECT POVERTY empowers students to combine their creative talents and academic work to produce an installation to educate the community about critical issues. For more information about New Visions or Project Poverty, contact Marjorie Leopold at 845-382-1281. ” End of story
