Regional Forum on Grade 3-8 Testing Program to be
Held at Ulster BOCES
New York State Education Department is holding an informational Forum on the new Grade 3-8 Testing Program and the English Language Arts and Mathematics Grade-by-Grade Curricula on Wednesday, March 16 from 5-7 PM. This session is intended for parents, Board of Education, PTA members, and community members.
David Abrams, assistant commissioner in the Office of Standards, Assessments, and Reporting; Jean Stevens, assistant commissioner in the Office of Curriculum and Instructional Support; and Candy Shyer, supervisor in the Office of Special Education Policy and Partnership will present at the Forum, being held at the Ulster BOCES Conference Center in New Paltz. This session will also be available at two remote sites via videoconference technology: the Orange-Ulster Harriman Learning Center and the Sullivan BOCES Conference Room in Liberty.
This Forum is designed so that participants can learn about curricular and testing changes, which bring New York State into alignment with the Federal No Child Left Behind legislation. A question and answer segment is part of the program. Parents are encouraged to attend.
