Program Overview

The Adult Education

Adult Education programs provide life-long learning opportunities for our community neighbors. As a partner of the Ulster County Workforce Development Board, Ulster BOCES offers career classes to help adults expand their employment opportunities. Career development coursework opens doors to such fields as healthcare, office technology, and solar-power installation, to name just a few. Literacy programs, offered free throughout Ulster County, help prepare individuals for the General Educational Development (GED) examination, encourage increased English language skills, and support overall literacy levels. In addition, the Continuing Education program offers a wide selection of short courses, such as Defensive Driving, Spanish for Professionals, and Chef du Jour. Catalogs are distributed to all Ulster County residents three times annually. Primary sites at Port Ewen, Lake Katrine, and Ellenville offer Ulster County residents a choice of convenient locations.
