The Career & Technical Center
The Career & Technical Center offers a full array of New York State Education Department-approved programs, providing high school students with hands-on learning and school-to-work experiences in such fields as aviation, culinary arts, information technology, nursing, fashion design, and more. Students may earn a Regents Diploma with the added distinction of a career and technical endorsement, and the Collegian Program allows students to earn college credits through SUNY Ulster. Ulster BOCES Career & Technical Center has been consistently designated as a “High Implementation Career and Technical School” by the national “High Schools That Work” project from a field of over 1,200 participating schools. Emphasis is placed on applied academics, trade-specific training, employment skills, and the value of attending college. Dramatic increases in reading and math levels, the Regent’s pass rate, the high school graduation completion rate, and the number of graduates who go on to college have been made in recent years. On their own, districts would find it impossible to offer these highly-specialized courses to students.
