Program Overview

The Special Education

Special Education offers high-quality options to meet the needs of students with disabilities. Programs addressing physical, cognitive, communicative, social, emotional, and adaptive development needs are offered in the least restrictive environment possible. Classrooms are located both at the Ulster BOCES site in Port Ewen and in leased classrooms throughout Ulster County. A dedicated team of professionals is provided, including instructors, crisis intervention specialists, teaching assistants and aides, school nurses, social workers, and psychologists. Related/Itinerant Services, as requested in the Individualized Education Program (IEP), are also provided to supplement the student’s classroom instruction.
