Health Services

People working in this field provide healthcare and support services to address the physical, mental, and emotional needs of their clients. They apply scientific, technical, social, and interpersonal skills to diagnose and treat illnesses, document care, provide a therapeutic environment, and maintain the health of their clients.

LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSING (LPN)
This two-year program prepares students for a career as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). In addition to classroom study and practical training in a state-of-the-art laboratory facility, students participate in supervised, hands-on care in several healthcare facilities throughout the community. Seniors are able to register half-time or full-time. Half-time students finish their first year of LPN training as seniors and their second year after graduating high school. Full-time students take the entire course during their senior year and are able to complete English and Social Studies 12 at the Career & Technical Center.

Educational Opportunities

Successful completion of this program qualifies students to take the Licensing Examination for Practical Nursing, as well as earn up to 24 college credits toward certification as a Registered Nurse (RN).
