Culinary Arts Grad Returns to Ulster BOCES

Earl Fredrick, a graduate of the Ulster BOCES Culinary Arts program and Ellenville High School, recently visited his former classroom to share his expertise and lead a food preparation demonstration. Fredrick is currently the Lead Cuisine Instructor, as well as a ServSafe instructor and proctor, at Clark College in Vancouver, Washington. He is also a regional ProStart judge.

During his visit, he shared tips with the students about knife skills and carrying a pad and pen to keep track of recipes and industry shortcuts. Most importantly, he advised students to never destroy relationships they could benefit from in the future.

Reflecting back on his time in the program at the Career & Technical Center, Fredrick says, "It works! Chef Powell was my inspiration and taught me to be well-rounded."
