At the Ulster BOCES Conference Center in New Paltz on August 15 from 8:30 AM to 3 PM, local educators are invited to participate in a workshop to explore methods of integrating art into various subjects as a means to enhance student learning. The workshop is designed for grades 5-12 art, social studies, and English language arts educators.
At the event, teachers will be introduced to AMICO (Art Museum Image Consortium), which is an on-line library of 80,000 highly digitized works of art, and its companion multidisciplinary curriculum site DOCEO (which means “I Teach”). They will then explore ways to use the technology to create multidisciplinary lesson plans.
Registration is limited and must be received by August 3. There is a $25 charge for educators who are non-participants of the Ulster BOCES Arts-in-Education Co-Ser. Members are free. For more information or to register, contact Kim Kreuscher at 255-1402.
