Leadership

The administrative leadership of Ulster BOCES functions similar to the Central Office of a local school district. In addition to the responsibilities performed by the District Superintendent’s Office, the Administration provides many internal support services as part of its day-to-day operations. These include payroll, accounting, bidding, purchasing, budgeting, planning, community relations, grant writing, and recruiting of qualified administrators, teachers, and non-instructional staff. Administration provides local school district administrators with support and high-level leadership on statewide and national issues and mandates. The services of the Ulster BOCES Administration benefit each school district in Ulster County.

 

Dr. Jonah M. Schenker

District Superintendent & Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Schenker received his Doctorate in Education Leadership from The Esteves School of Education, at The Sage Colleges, in 2015. Dr. Schenker began his formal education career as a classroom teacher in inner city/urban settings, as well as rural school districts.

Amanda Stokes

Assistant Superintendent for Administration & Chief Operations Officer 

Amanda Stokes received her School District Business Leader Certificate from the College of Saint Rose. She began her career with Ulster BOCES in 2006 and over the years has served in a variety of roles, including Financial/Human Resources Software Specialist, Principal Account Clerk, Deputy Treasurer, and Purchasing Agent.

Dr. Jillaine Berardi

Assistant Superintendent for Learning & Design - Center for Innovative Teaching & Learning Program

Jill Berardi received her Certificate of Advanced Study from the SUNY New Paltz School of Educational Administration. She began her career as a classroom special education teacher in an inner-city school district, and transitioned into administration.

Assistant Superintendent for Learning & Design - Educator Edge

Sarah Dudley-Lemek holds a Master of Arts in Teaching, Social Studies, from SUNY New Paltz, where she also received her Certificate of Advanced Study in School Building Leadership/School Building Leadership.

Peter Harris

Assistant Superintendent for Learning & Design - Career Pathways Program 

Peter Harris received his Certificate of Advanced Study from the SUNY New Paltz School of Educational Administration in 2010. As a high school principal, he focused on promoting equity and access for all students.
