NY Inspires Momentum Builds at Erie 1 BOCES Consortium Session

Ulster BOCES continued its leadership in advancing the NY Inspires initiative with a third BOCES Consortium gathering held on January 29, 2026, at Erie 1 BOCES.

Convened by Educator Edge at Ulster BOCES and facilitated in partnership with New Tech Network (NTN), the session brought together educational leaders from across the region to deepen their collective work around transformational change in education.

The day centered on the idea that “leaders bring the weather”—a guiding concept that shaped conversations and activities throughout the session. Participants explored how leadership mindset and actions influence the conditions necessary for meaningful, system-wide change, particularly as schools and programs work to implement the NY Inspires vision and the Portrait of a Graduate framework.

Through collaboration and reflection, attendees examined how they can create environments that support innovation, empower educators, and ultimately improve outcomes for students. The gathering reinforced the importance of intentional leadership in driving sustainable progress and highlighted the collective commitment of BOCES partners to this work.
