Larry Borelli Named 2026 Ulster County School Bus Driver of the Year

Ulster BOCES proudly congratulates School Bus Driver Larry Borelli on being named Ulster County’s 2026 School Bus Driver of the Year!

Larry has been a valued member of the Ulster BOCES team since 2018. Before joining the organization, he spent several years working as a private transportation contractor in the Hudson Valley. Throughout his career, Larry has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to student safety, dependable service, and creating a positive experience for everyone who rides his bus.

“Larry is always willing to go the extra mile,” said Lawrence McCauley, Ulster BOCES Transportation Supervisor. “He proactively helps coordinate activities within the department to improve efficiency and is always ready to lend a hand. Most importantly, Larry brings an incredibly positive attitude to his interactions with both staff and students. His students respect him and listen to him.”

This well-deserved honor recognizes Larry’s professionalism, dependability, and care. By helping students travel safely each day and arrive ready to learn, he plays an important role in supporting their educational experience and success.

Larry was recently recognized at the June meeting of the Mid-Hudson Transportation Supervisors Association. The Ulster County Traffic Safety Committee will honor him again during School Bus Safety Week in October.

Congratulations, Larry, and thank you for your outstanding service to our students and the entire Ulster BOCES community!
