Did you know that New York State public health law mandates food safety training for food service workers and managers in supermarkets, restaurants, hotels, hospitals, nonprofits, and volunteer organizations?
ServSafe, America’s most recognized food safety training program, is designed to provide training and certification for anyone who handles food for public consumption.
In this course, offered by the Ulster BOCES Adult Career Education Center, students will learn basic food safety concepts and how to protect against food-borne illness outbreaks. Successful completion of this class will help reduce liability risks and minimize insurance costs.
Classes will take place on Mondays and Tuesdays—November 1, 2, 8 and 9—from 5-9 PM, at the Career & Technical Center in Port Ewen. Perfect attendance is required to sit for the certification examination which will be offered on the final night of class.
The cost of the course is $289.
