A demonstration of culinary expertise was on the menu during the Ulster BOCES Annual Meeting, held at the Ulster BOCES Career & Technical Center in Port Ewen on April 11. Young professionals enrolled in the Culinary Arts and TOP A programs wowed an appreciative audience of Ulster County school administrators and Board of Education members with their culinary expertise. These talented young professionals planned, prepared, and served a gourmet meal, complete with tantalizing appetizers to mouthwatering entrees and divine desserts, all masterfully crafted as part of their hands-on culinary coursework.
But it wasn't just about the food; it was an immersive experience. Guests were welcomed into the heart of the action - the students' "classroom," which is a bustling commercial kitchen buzzing with creativity and passion. Here, the school leaders weren't just served a meal; they were invited to engage in conversation with the young chefs, who were proud to showcase their knowledge and skills. The event was a feast for the senses and a testament to the boundless talent nurtured at Ulster BOCES.
Young professionals from other programs were also on hand to showcase their expertise in their Career & Technical Center programs of study, and learners from across several student-based programs shared their personal stories about attending Ulster BOCES with the guests. It was an inspiring evening filled with appreciation and pride.
