How can we engage students in active mathematical thinking? Open math tasks with different entry and solution pathways provide excellent opportunities for students to deepen their learning in math by applying prior knowledge to real world contexts and new types of problems. In this webinar participants will engage in math activities that foster curiosity and can capture and sustain student interest and engagement in inquiry by facilitating student access with visual models, and that promote and support student dialogue. Participants will leave with resources for visual and open ended tasks to implement engaging math activities with students.
