In a time when fake news is abundant, how do we get our students thinking critically about various claims? Use the Claim, Evidence, Reasoning (CER) framework to engage students in the NYSSLS science and engineering practices of engaging in argument from evidence as well as obtaining, evaluating, and communicating information. This session will also provide participants with the experience of combining reading in science with collaborative problem solving.

We prefer you join us from a laptop, Chromebook or desktop computer so you can interact fully with the presentation.
