Printed Playbook (Shipped via Lulu)

Printed copies of the NY Inspires Playbook are produced and fulfilled through Lulu, our third-party printing partner. Sales tax is applied by Lulu’s automated system unless a valid tax-exempt certificate is on file.

How to Claim Tax-Exempt Status for Printed Orders

Important: A Lulu Direct account must be created before submitting a sales tax exemption certificate.
Eligible organizations may submit a valid tax-exempt or resale certificate using one of the following methods:

1. Email (Send your certificate to: purchaseorder@lulu.com) and include:
   • Email address associated with your Lulu account
   • Your name and phone number
   • Order number (if applicable)
2. Lulu Support Case
   • Upload your certificate via Lulu’s support page.
   • Select: Buying / My Order → Sales Tax Exemption
3. Fax your certificate to: 919-459-5867 and include:
   • Email address associated with your Lulu account
   • Your name and phone number
   • Order number (if applicable)

Once submitted, Lulu’s accounting team will follow up via email after the exemption has been applied to your account.

Important Notes for Printed Orders

A valid exemption or resale certificate must be issued by the ship-to state.
The exempt organization’s name must appear in the Bill-To address.
Some states require the certificate to be on file before the order is placed.
If tax is charged before exemption approval, refunds may not be guaranteed.
