Deeper Learning Global (DLg) aims to build regional Deeper Learning networks through smaller conferences held across the globe. These events are inspired by and affiliated with the international Deeper Learning (DL) conference in San Diego. The regional versions of DL yield lasting connections among participants by utilizing a cadre of local facilitators, speakers, musicians and artists to engage in collaborative and transformative learning experiences for educators.

A systems-oriented leader, Dr. Njoku focuses on building coherence across classrooms and grade levels, ensuring that curriculum, assessment, professional learning, and leadership practices work in concert to advance student success.
Grounded in equity and guided by the belief that every student should leave every classroom every day knowing their mind works and works well, she believes sustainable improvement within a classroom, throughout a school, and across a district is realized not through disconnected practices, but through the development of people working in trusted relationships with a unified commitment to teaching and learning. Dr. Njoku is committed to supporting teachers and leaders in cultivating environments where young people are empowered to wonder, question, contribute, and lead.

Dr. Joseph A. Henderson
Professor, Scholar, Anthropologist of Environmental and Science Education, NYS BOE member
Dr. Joseph A. Henderson is an anthropologist of environmental and science education whose scholarship explores how cultural, political, and geographic factors influence climate change education. One strand of his research examines the institutionalization of climate change education at subnational and national levels in the United States and abroad. Another emerging strand investigates the rise of radical and violent responses to the climate crisis, and how education might interrupt those patterns. He has experience as a middle and high school earth science teacher, as an environmental educator in the informal sector, and currently serves as an elected public school board official in rural Upstate New York where he advises the State Education Department on climate change education policy creation and implementation. He is an appointed member of the National Academies of Sciences consensus study panel on Education for Thriving in a Changing Climate and has published broadly on environmental and climate education, including Teaching Climate Change in the United States, a collection celebrating diverse climate change education programs. He is currently on the faculty at the University of Vermont.
