There are currently 12 Regional Information Centers (RICs) organized under the Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES).
Ulster BOCES is home of the Mid-Hudson Regional Information Center.

The RICs purpose is to regionalize technology services. This relationship increases the buying power of a district and promotes consistent technical standards. This cost effective system generates savings for the local taxpayer and has leveled the playing field, allowing the best resources to remain in reach of all districts, no matter their size.

Collaboration on service and software contracts occurs regularly in the following areas:
  • Administrative Systems
  • Data Analysis, Integration & Verification
  • Integration of Technology
  • Technical Support

The RIC Directors meet formally on a monthly basis to coordinate statewide initiatives and leverage capabilities. RICs sometimes cross contract with one another on behalf of member school districts for services.
