The Area & Community:

The Saugerties Central School District is located approximately 100 miles north of New York City on the west bank of the Hudson River. The District, with a population around 19,000, is comprised of the Town of Saugerties and parts of the Towns of Woodstock and Ulster. It is a rural/suburban area with many of its residents employed in the Poughkeepsie-Kingston corridor. Saugerties, off of Exit 20 of the New York State Thruway, is a thriving community with easy access to the surrounding Hudson Valley and its many educational, cultural, recreational, and economic and business opportunities.
