Return to School
Ulster BOCES statement: Ulster BOCES will maintain confidentiality while remaining clear and prompt with communication with school districts, employees, students, and families about people returning after COVID diagnosis and treatment/screenings, temporary closures due to identified COVID-19 cases, and reopening timelines and procedures.
Ulster BOCES will adhere to NYS and UC DOH guidelines for students to return to school after a failed health screening while entering buildings
Students returning from failed screening:
- A negative COVID-19 test and/or a doctor’s note indicating that a COVID-19 test is not required and that the student is medically able to return is required for reentry. This information will be shared with the school nurse and administration.
- All DOH recommendation will be adhered to for documentation and isolation periods.
- Ulster BOCES will coordinate with UC DOH in following metrics to determine if closure of a classroom, building, program, or district is warranted. The default position shall be that all programs located at the location in question, during the time period of the exposure shall be closed for up to 14 days unless otherwise modified by the UC DOH.
