Health Occupations Exploration Program (HOEP)

The goal of the Health Occupations Exploration Program (HOEP) is to prepare students for a career in healthcare by giving them the opportunity to explore various healthcare careers through engaging project development, hands-on activities, observation, and shadowing of professionals in all allied health, medical, and nursing fields. Students receive healthcare instruction in a variety of areas, including medical terminology, legal responsibilities, communications, safety practices, anatomy and physiology, nutrition, and emergency skills. Students prepare for the level of responsibility required to participate in the clinical aspect of the program and internship experiences.
