Why Ulster BOCES CTE?

Your School Day Could Look Like This!

Learn by Doing with Hands-On Instruction

In Career & Technical classes, students regularly apply both theory and actual skill. Upon course completion, students not only know how a task should be done, they’ve actually done it.

Expert Faculty with industry experience

Our experienced instructors bring extensive job service in their respective fields. Small classes in a safe, supportive, and relevant learning environment ensure that students get the instruction and experience they need to be successful.

Cutting-Edge Curriculum

Advisory committees of professionals from local business and industry collaborate with the Ulster BOCES Career & Technical Center staff to ensure that each program’s curriculum meets industry standards and that students are trained using cutting- edge technology and equipment.

Earn a Regents Diploma with Technical Endorsement

All of the programs offered at the Ulster BOCES Career & Technical Center are approved by the New York State Education Department and successful program completion leads to a distinctive technical endorsement on a Regents diploma.

Earn College Credits

Most courses at the Career & Technical Center have established articulation agreements with colleges, which allows students the opportunity to earn college credit while in high school, saving time and money.

Succeed in College

In addition to career knowledge, students gain valuable time management, academic, and study skills that lead to success in post-secondary education. Data from the United States Department of Education shows that students with technical education backgrounds perform more successfully in college.

CONNECTS EDUCATION WITH REAL LIFE EXPERIENCES

Technical programs are taught by trained instructors who are experts in their career fields. English, math, and science are integrated into all career and technical courses. This applied approach makes learning academics relevant to real world expectations and helps students gain and improve their academic skills. Small classes in a safe, caring, and supportive learning environment ensure that students get the instruction they need to be successful.
