Career Academic

This program is designed for students with disabilities who are struggling with meeting the rigorous demands of a Regents Diploma. Preparation and development of academic skills to gain competitive employment will be emphasized within the expected NYS guidelines for earning a Regents Diploma in a smaller group setting. The program includes the instructional component only, although case management and related services may be added based on the student’s Individual Education Program (IEP).

TASC Academic Preparatory Program

The Academic Preparatory Program is designed for secondary students who have some management needs and lower academic success, as evidenced by few or no Carnegie credits earned. In this program, students are prepared for a Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC) in preparation to earn a NYS High School Equivalency Diploma (HSE). Students attend academic prep for a half of the day and attend the Career & Technical Education Center for the remaining half. The program includes the instructional component only, although related services may be added based on the student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP).

Project SEARCH™ High School Transition Program (Anticipated)

Project SEARCH™ is a program offered to students nearing their last year of high school eligibility who have an interest in gaining competitive employment. Students will attend an on-site classroom to receive academics and job coaching in a business setting while rotating into internships. This opportunity is possible through a partnership with several community stakeholders.

Career and Technical Education Exploratory

The program is created for students interested in developing skills that will lead to competitive employment and will emphasis exploration into a variety of fields and opportunities based on the student’s individual interests and aptitude. An introduction to foundational employability skills development will be embedded into the curriculum. This class serves as a gateway to a variety of transitional Career Development program offerings. It may be taken as a part time program or as part of one of the full time academic offerings.
