High Tech High on the Road at Ulster BOCES

Learn How to Take Your Instruction to Whole New Levels through High Tech High's Renowned Deeper Learning Institute

Ulster BOCES in New Paltz, NY is proud to bring the internationally-acclaimed High Tech High (HTH) Deeper Dive Project-Based Learning Institute to the East Coast.

Educators will learn how to:

  • Develop meaningful instruction that motivates and challenges students to embrace new learning while strengthening their mastery of core academic content.
  • Foster equity in schools through authentic connections for students, including classwork and experiential learning.
  • Align and strengthen college and career readiness.
  • Build essential skills including communication, collaboration, critical thinking, problem solving, leadership, self-directed learning, global connectivity, empathy, etc.

The institute features interactive workshops and structured team time for K-12 educators to plan how they will put new ideas to practice. During the optional winter site visit to HTH in San Diego (included in the Total Immersion package), participants will engage with students and staff. They will gain inspiration and powerful collegial connections, and will leave with new ideas, tools, practices, and partners in this work.

HTH training is based on a strong experiential approach with participants developing and critiquing project designs, exhibitions, and assessments. Sessions are led by internationally acclaimed, passionate, and inspiring facilitators.

Registration Is Limited: Enroll by September 30!

Teams of all sizes are welcome. Districts are encouraged to bring a team of multi-tiered educators, from practitioners to policymakers, who can return with knowledge to build local capacity in your district. Suggested team members include a central administrator, building leadership, lead teachers, and teacher leaders from elementary, middle, and high school.

HTH High Tech High logoDeveloped by a coalition of civic leaders and educators from San Diego, High Tech High is an integrated network of 13 charter schools, which serve approximately 5,300 students in Grades K-12 across three campuses. The HTH organization also features a comprehensive adult learning environment that includes a Teacher Credentialing Program and the High Tech High Graduate School of Education, offering professional development opportunities for national and international educators. High Tech High is guided by four connected design principles—equity, personalization, authentic work, and collaborative design—that set aspirational goals and create a foundation for understanding the approach.
