Join internationally recognized Project/Process-Based Learning experts from San Diego’s acclaimed High Tech High Graduate School (HTH) for a two-day, interactive professional development experience that provides an introduction to the techniques, mindset, and protocols for authentic learning and real-world skills utilized in the High Tech High approach. This workshop will provide foundational training for the High Tech High 2.0 Institute.

Participants will explore how equity in schools can be achieved through well-designed immersive and interdisciplinary projects. School districts are encouraged to bring a team of multi-tiered educators, from practitioners to policymakers, who can return home with the knowledge to build local capacity in their respective districts.

Using Project-Based Learning (PBL) to solve real-world issues

Join internationally recognized Project/Process-Based Learning experts from San Diego’s High Tech High (HTH) for a yearlong, interactive, in-depth learning experience to build PBL cycles of inquiry to solve real-world problems.

Through workforce partnerships and inquiry-based projects, students will develop future-ready skills while districts foster equity and engagement that meet NYS and Next Gen Learning Standards.

West Coast Deep Dive!

WEST COAST DIVE will take place in New Paltz and in San Diego — where we visit the High Tech High campus to experience immersive and expansive Project-Based Learning in action!

HTH High Tech High logoDeveloped by a coalition of civic leaders and educators from San Diego, High Tech High is an integrated network of 13 charter schools, which serve approximately 5,300 students in Grades K-12 across three campuses. The HTH organization also features a comprehensive adult learning environment that includes a Teacher Credentialing Program and the High Tech High Graduate School of Education, offering professional development opportunities for national and international educators. High Tech High is guided by four connected design principles—equity, personalization, authentic work, and collaborative design—that set aspirational goals and create a foundation for understanding the approach.

Getting Here

The Ulster BOCES Conference Center is centrally located with easy access to the New York State Thruway and the Metro-North or Amtrak Railways, which operate from the Poughkeepsie Train Station. The Trailways Bus station is only a few miles from the Conference Center. New York Stewart International Airport is a 30 minute drive away, with larger Newark, Laguardia, and JFK airports just 90 miles away.

There is ample and convenient parking available at Ulster BOCES.
